TIKKUN FARM is CELEBRATING OUR FIRST TEN YEARS.
WHEN WE ESTABLISHED TIKKUN FARM AS A NONPROFIT WE SET ITS MISSION: Heal People, Repair Community, Restore Creation.
Over the last decade Tikkun Farm has lived into this vision in the following ways:
HEAL PEOPLE
- Children's camps offering trauma-informed experiences
- Supported parents with activities such as writing and yoga
- Launched Cooking-on-a-Budget classes
- Delivered Crockpot meal kits to individuals and families during the pandemic
- Created a Free Market food pantry that offers fresh surplus to those in need
- Served–45,000+ at the food pantry/year and fed 12,000+ families/49,000+ individuals with the crockpot meals (recent annual figures)
- Currently exporting food to 12 smaller food pantries around the city.
- Provided garden space to a local Bhutanese community that supports 50 people.
REPAIR COMMUNITY
- Developed a job training program to serve young adults and alter the school-to-prison pipeline locally
- Welcomed our first environmental intern
- Built an orchard board walk making our Food Forest accessible to neighbors and those with mobility issues
- Offered retreats, herbalism workshops, Quiet Days Drumming, and Hospice Worker retreats.
RESTORE CREATION
- 2,500 people per year supported our Creation Care environmental projects
- Launched an animal care team with weekly volunteers
- Established Pollinators Gardens, Composting and Education workshops.
- Environmental education program with schools and other organizations
- Diverted –830,000 lbs. of waste from landfill
- Currently exporting 50 tons of compost
- Established native plant nursery with 120 varieties of native species.
WHAT DOES GROWTH LOOK LIKE FOR TIKKUN FARM?

Future Deepening and Growing Existing Programs
Feeding Program - Growth for Nourishing Families
- Inviting guests to harvest from our food forest
- Continue our Cooking on a Budget class to feed people body and soul
- Support the whole person through invitations to be involved in trauma work
- build a commercial kitchen for food entrepreneurs and expanded educational opportunities
- Increase export partners as we grow as a food hub that orders food behalf of smaller organizations
- Encourage other communities to learn from our model
Vocational Education program / Job Training
- Increase internship opportunities
- Establish a building trades pre-apprenticeship program
- Increase opportunities to learn animal husbandry, animal rescue
Creation Care program
- Grow as a learning center for permaculture
- Expand native species nursery
- Expand service-learning experiences for schools and neighbors
Staffing
- Increase funding to support a paid Executive Director and Development Director to accommodate growth in programs and staff, mentoring, coaching.
